Visual Arts Lead and Programme Manager - Tier 2 sponsorship available

Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and versatile individual to join our team as a Visual Artist and Programme Manager. This role requires a creative individual with good knowledge of African arts and strong project management skills to oversee the development and execution of visual arts programs and events. You will work directly with the creative lead.

Key Responsibilities:

Visual Artistic Creation:

  • Conceptualize and create visually stunning artwork across various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.

  • Develop original artistic concepts and themes that align with the company's vision and objectives.

  • Collaborate with other artists and creative professionals to produce collaborative artworks and installations.

Programme Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute visual arts programs and events, including exhibitions, gallery shows, artist residencies, and workshops.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for each program or event.

  • Liaise with internal teams, external partners, artists, vendors, and sponsors to ensure the successful implementation of programs and events.

Community Engagement:

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, including digital and print collateral, social media content, press releases, and newsletters.

  • Assist in marketing strategies to increase visibility and attendance for visual arts programs and events.

  • Act as a spokesperson for the company, representing our mission and values to the public and media.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree.

  • Proven experience as a visual artist with a strong portfolio of original artworks.

  • Ability to lead and facilitate workshops.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution.

  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers at the space, during, and after events, providing assistance, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience.

  • Administrative Support: Assist in administrative tasks such as managing bookings, handling registrations, and coordinating logistics for events and projects.

  • Communication: Maintain clear and prompt communication with team members, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless coordination and execution of tasks.

  • Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of events, including setup, registration, guest management, and troubleshooting during the event.
